Type H

The Israeli

"Looks permanently surprised. Exclusive to one region and proud of it."

Type H is used almost exclusively in Israel and Palestine. The original version had three flat pins in a Y shape. Since 1989 the pins have been round, and modern Type H sockets also accept Europlugs.

Things to know

  • Europlug-friendly. If you have a Type C adapter, you're very likely fine.
  • Grounded. The third pin sits below the other two, giving the socket that permanently surprised expression.
  • Older flat-pin sockets still exist in some buildings. They're becoming rare.

Plugbert's verdict

Unique, a little startled-looking, very easy if you bring a Europlug.
