Type O is Thailand's own grounded plug, standardised in 2006 (or 2549 in the Thai Buddhist calendar, which Plugbert thinks is extremely cool).
Things to know
- You'll rarely need it. Most Thai wall sockets are universal-ish and accept Type A and C plugs directly.
- Europlugs fit Type O sockets.
- Grounding is inconsistent in older buildings, so treat it as a bonus.

A thoughtful national standard that most visitors never notice, because their plug fit anyway.
